This is one of the posts, that as the owner of Spark of Amber, I fully admit is “out of the ordinary” for this blog. There will be posts like this from time to time. These posts will be less “business” and more personal.
I suppose, like any holiday, Mother’s Day can bring a mix of emotions. On my personal facebook page, I see pictures of mothers and daughters smiling happily together. Then, the next post is a short sentence where someone is missing a mom who has passed on.
Some mothers are rejoicing in a full house, and others are experiencing an empty nest for the first time. There are grown children who are giving their mothers cards filled with beautiful and true thoughts of thankfulness for all the sacrifices their mothers have made in their lives, all the kindnesses their mothers have shown. . .and there are daughters and sons who cannot send such cards, for such words would be a lie, and the bitterness of what could have been fills their hearts on Mother’s Day.
Today, new births will give many women their first Mother’s Day, and other women will mourn their inability to conceive. . or grieve for a lost child.
And so, I am aware of all this, as the owner of Spark of Amber, wishing you who are mothers a Happy Mother’s Day. I know for some of you it will be a struggle, and for some of you the day will be filled with joy. I hope you can all find moments of beauty.
My Mother’s Day is made special by my husband of 13 years, my partner in this parenting journey. . .and my three rambunctious, beautiful, mischievous, lively and wonderful children, pictured below:
So, tomorrow it’s back to the normal blog posts, but for today, if you are a mom, may you find special moments of joy in your Mother’s Day! Happy Mother’s Day from Spark of Amber.
